The glitch effect looks cool and unusual. It become highly popular these days. You can see it in music clips, video games, and movies. So what is the glitch? Glitches are software errors or bugs that are often caused by a corrupted signal. This word isn’t new, it become popular in the 1960s and ’70s, after astronaut John Glenn’s contribution in 1962 to Into Orbit book. A book written by the original seven astronauts of Project Mercury. Glenn wrote: “Another term we adopted to describe some of our problems was ‘glitch’. Literally, a glitch … is such a minute change in voltage that no fuse could protect against it.”.

At first, such effects were perceived as regular defects and were treated like trash. Later in 1996, Brian Eno wrote in his book A Year with Swollen Appendices“Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable, and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature”. This prediction become reality. Artists are using digital errors in their work, and glitch artworks are shown at exhibitions.
